The Digital Transformation Agency is seeking enterprise resource planning providers (ERP) to share information about capability and capacity to deliver a comprehensive ERP solution for the agency.
In a request for information (RFI) through BuyICT’s Software Marketplace, the DTA said the “small agency” had “relatively uncomplicated” ERP needs, said Chris Huang, acting chief operating officer at the DTA.
“The information we’re looking for includes edge solutions currently available in the market,” explained Huang.
DTA will use the information to help support its considerations for current and future requirements of what agency ERP systems should deliver.
These requirements include integrated reporting and data analytics, connectivity and interoperability with third party systems and applications, embedded automation processes, security and operational resilience practices.
Responses will be collected through BuyICT with the RFI closing on 24 February.
According to the DTA, this RFI was in line with Australian Government’s newly developed Australian Public Service ERP approach, announced in November 2024.
This gives non-corporate Commonwealth entities greater autonomy and choice in modernising ERP systems now and into the future.
‘The DTA have always been strong advocates for agencies finding opportunities to reuse available services and solutions wherever possible, learn from the work conducted by other agencies, and not congesting the market with procurements,’ explained Huang.
‘Our RFI is the first step in verifying our approach is sound and informing any next steps in the process we may look to pursue.’
